Judges 2: ‘Worse Than Willie Horton’ | Embedded | NPR

This past summer I had the opportunity to intern at National Public Radio with the investigative podcast Embedded. During my time with Embedded I had the opportunity to learn from some of the best in radio journalism.

My internship included many tasks but the best opportunity came in the form of this episode about the implications of the politicization of state judicial races. The episode specifically focused on contentious judicial elections in states like Iowa and Wisconsin. The role of a judge is non-political in nature, but in this episode we explore how that has slowly been changing over the years.

I was excited to have a heavy hand in producing this episode, being involved in everything from pulling archival tape to researching and booking the guests who were featured in the episode. I am proud of how it turned out.
